Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get a new patient appointment?
Usually when new clients reach out to me they would like to get started right away. I try to offer my new clients an appointment within a week of reaching out. Lets strike while the irons hot.
How do contact you to set up an appointment?
You can contact me by clinking on the “Get Started” Button at the top right or the bottom right of the page. Then complete some brief information and I I will be in touch. You can also email, text or call me using the contact info at the bottom left of the page.
How often do I come?
Most of my clients initially come weekly for 3-4 weeks to set up initial goals, and do the most intensive work. Afterwards, my clients taper off to every other week, where they will continue to work on the cognitive behavioral piece of therapy. Once my clients feel more confident in their new abilities, they may check in every 3-4 weeks to discuss their continued process and any obstacles that may have come up.
What is the initial appointment like?
If this is your first time seeking therapy, I will guide you gently through the process and take time to answer any questions and address any concerns. We will start of the first session by you telling me more about yourself and your life thus far. Then we will develop goals together. I am a results driven therapist and most likely will assign homework regularly; sometimes it is recording a behavior, changing a behavior, journaling around a specific event or feeling, reading a book, or even listening to a podcast.
How much are your services?
It will depend on whether I am in-network with your insurance company, and if so, what your copay currently is. My Self Pay and Out of Network Rates are:
Initial Session: $150
Individual Session: $125
Family Session: $125
If I am an out of network provider for your insurance company, I am happy to produce a Suberbill at the end of the month on request for you to submit for possible reimbursement for services rendered. Some insurances reimburse 50-80% of the cost of the session.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I currently I accept:
Mayo/Medica
Medicare
Aetna*
Cigna*
TriCare*
*I am no longer accepting new clients for these insurances as I am transitioning off of these insurances and will not be in-network starting January 2024.
What does out of network mean?
Out of Network means that I currently do not have contract for services with that insurance company. For my clients whose insurances are out of network, they will pay me the out of network rate, and then at the end of the month, if requested, I produce a Suberbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement for services rendered. Some insurances reimburse 50-80% of the cost of the session. Your insurance company can give you more specifics regarding their out of network reimbursement policy.
