What my clients are saying…

“Deciding to go to a therapist can be very intimidating. I know for me I was nervous about my first experience speaking with someone about some of the things I was dealing with. Candice made those fears disappear. She made me feel very comfortable and has helped me immensely. She has given me many different methods to manage my anxiety that truly help. I recommend therapy and specifically Candice to everyone!”

“Candice saved me life. I have never been to therapy before this. I was young and scared. I didn’t know what to expect or if I would even be comfortable talking to a stranger about my issues. From the moment I stepped into her office, I felt safe. She explained what therapy would be like and we jumped right in. I cried a lot in the beginning and she helped me become a stronger person. She has guided me through some very challenging things in my life and has showed me different ways of thinking. She helped me finally graduate high school, and knowing her she would tell me I did it on my own, but there is no way I would’ve been able to do it without her. When I talk to her it’s like everything just kind of falls out of me and she helps me pick up the pieces. After every session, I feel like a weight has been lifted off. She makes herself available whenever you need her. She is so easy to speak to and a great listener. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone just starting therapy for the first time or looking for someone new.”

“I think of therapy as a handbag, it provides you the tools you need to get through each day. I found Candice almost 10 years ago. She is has provided me with constant and consistent tools to create a better headspace for myself. I can’t say enough about how therapy with Candice has helped me with both major and minor life decisions. She has helped me navigate dating life, marriage, motherhood, and loss in a way that keeps my anxiety at bay and allows me to make critical decisions. She practices with a gentle kindness while also holding you accountable and providing tools and resources for any scenario.”

“I've had the pleasure of seeing Candice for about a year now. Since then I've learned so much about myself. In a matter of a couple months, I was weaned off of my medication completely. She's taught me a lot about being kind to myself and allowing myself to be human and make mistakes. She's given me numerous resources and outlets that allow me to actively work on myself in between sessions. My life is truly so much more joyful and freeing because of her.”

“I reached out to Candice after struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for over a year and half.  I am 38 years old and I had never experienced Contamination OCD until after having my second child, at age 36.  It took me a while to realize and to admit to myself that I had OCD, because all of the feelings felt very real to me and all of the things I was worrying about felt like they could really happen.  I thought that these things would definitely happen to me if I didn’t protect myself by doing my compulsions.  The more I did my compulsions, the more my obsession grew, and I started looking for danger in every situation.  I decided to treat myself only with therapy and with no medicine.  I met with Candice every two weeks in the beginning and then every three weeks.  She gave me homework at every appointment including exposure therapy, fast track method of tracking and limiting compulsions,  and techniques to deal with anxious thoughts including delaying them or doing the opposite of what my brain was telling me to do. I can finally say that I feel like I am able to take control of my thoughts and behaviors and that the anxious thoughts are now significantly down.  I told my husband just yesterday that I was so relaxed and not anxious  that “this must be what it would feel like if I had taken the medication”.  I am thankful that I was able to find Candice.  She has become a trusted confidant throughout this process. She has helped me in other areas of my life as well.  I actually look forward to our meetings. I would definitely recommend Candice to anyone who is thinking about therapy.  She has helped me get back to the person I was (and then some) before struggling with OCD. “

“When I started seeing Candice I had been in hospitalized for suicide.  With the treatment and homework she gave me regarding anxiety and depression I have came to a good point in my mental health and in no way think about suicide I only think about making every day positive.  I would recommend her to anyone.   As I have seen others in Jacksonville that have not been as helpful.”
